Xiaomi announces Redmi K70 Extreme Edition: a new benchmark in smartphone performance

Redmi, a sub-brand of Xiaomi, has announced its upcoming flagship smartphone Redmi K70 Extreme Edition. The official presentation is scheduled for July 19, but Xiaomi has already revealed the design and some key features of the device.

Touted as a 'performance beast', the Redmi K70 Extreme Edition aims to dominate its price bracket with top-notch performance, frame rates and power efficiency. According to Xiaomi, the new flagship based on the Dimensity 9300+ chipset achieved a record score of 2,382,780 points in the AnTuTu test. This beats the previous record of the Red Magic 9S Pro, which scored 2,369,542 points. In addition, the Geekbench test results show 2302 points in single-core mode and 7558 points in multi-core mode.

Design and features

The Redmi K70 Extreme Edition has a rectangular camera module on the back with four cutouts for the cameras and flash. The device has flat sides and thin bezels around the display. It boasts a 1.5K resolution panel with a 120Hz refresh rate that delivers smooth and vivid images.

Along with the Redmi K70 Extreme Edition, Xiaomi will also showcase the Mix Fold 4 and Mix Flip at the launch on July 19. Mix Flip will be Xiaomi's first folding clamshell smartphone.
